Our Story
Doing good work, by hand
"svapas" means doing good work, and this philosophy is reflected in everything we do. What began as one artist's studio in Ahmedabad is slowly growing into a home for art, craft and the people who make it.
What We Believe
The heart of Svapas
Made by hand
Every piece is shaped by hand, with patience and honest materials. No shortcuts, no mass production.
Rooted in tradition
Lippan kaam, Warli, rangoli, diyas: we keep traditional Indian craft alive, and let it breathe in today's homes.
Growing slowly
We'd rather do fewer things with care than many things in a hurry. Svapas grows season by season.
Art as family
Students, collectors and fellow makers aren't just customers to us. They're part of the Svapas family.
Meet the Founder
Sneha Doshi Trivedi
Dancer. Painter. Craftswoman. A life spent chasing colour, rhythm and the joy of making things by hand.
Svapas was founded by Sneha Doshi Trivedi, an Ahmedabad artist who has trained in Bharatanatyam and painting since early childhood and holds a Fine Arts Diploma. She works across 10+ art forms, from canvas painting and Lippan mud mirror work to clay, mosaic and calligraphy, has taught 100+ students, and has shown her work at 5+ exhibitions. In her own words:
A journey that began before school even did
I was lucky that I could start my training in Dance & Painting even before I started my 1st standard studies. With the help of my mother and my gurus, I practiced Bharatanatyam for several years, and gradually developed a sense of music, colour and art during my school days.
Post my Computer Engineering degree, I worked as a Web Designer and Animator for a year in the IT services industry. And after my marriage, I began my journey in the art field professionally, starting with a Fine Arts Diploma, and then founding my own venture, Svapas.
Since then, I've been exploring and learning new art forms every day, running my art & craft classes, taking professional orders for crafting and delivering art pieces, and doing exhibitions from time to time.
In Sneha's Words
"I love colours; they please my eyes and my soul. My art pieces are my way of expressing and spreading happiness & love around."
